Townsville Bulletin - - News - Fury texts: Page 24

COMMENTS posted on the Townsville Bulletin website after news of the Fury’s demise broke: I won’t be going to Dairy Farmers Stadium anymore, I ain’t going to watch the Cowboys play, can’t even win. It’s tragic the Fury aren’t in the A-League. To get my football fix, looks like I’ll have to go and support the Roar . . . Posted by Tim To Ben Buckley, do not expect any support for Australian football again from anyone in North Queensland, especially while you remain in charge. I never cared for soccer but I gave it a chance and got behind the Fury and enjoyed it. Pity you couldn’t do the same. So do us all a favour and walk away now before you damage Australia’s reputation any more. Posted by: Brendan of USA To all those who shared in the fun – the ups and downs of the past two seasons at DFS – thank you. At last we had some passion and atmosphere at a sporting event in townsville. Win or lose, the supporters were there rain or shine. Una per furor. Posted by Colin of Townsville. It’s a sad day for sport in North Queensland – even if you don’t like soccer. It was great that a national competition had a presence here. Posted by Louise of Townsville This must be the most disgusting way of treating people I have ever seen, you keep them hanging around for months on end and then have the cheek to say you will back the Roar because they are $ 1.5m in debt but then turn around and axe the Fury. I will never ever watch or look at another A-league game and I have been watching football for the past 60 years in many parts of the world. To all the players, staff and the people in the background, thank you, it was good while it lasted and I hope you all get contracts elsewhere. To the FFA, shame, shame, shame, shame you totally disgust me. Posted by Alan of Hyde Park
