Dimitrios ( Jim) Tsilavis Motorbike rider injured by Banhelyi THE motorcyclist said yesterday after sentencing that Banhelyi got what he deserved for his trail of destruction that day.

‘‘ He fled the scene of the crime and left me for dead, then sped off and killed someone else in the process – it was a cowardly act,’’ he said.

‘‘ At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but the truth came out and I think it was justice today.’’

Mr Tsilavis said he would carry the injuries he received forever after being left with lower back fractures that were now causing arthritic problems.

But the ray of sunshine to his dark days has been making a lifelong friend in Jessica Lance’s sister Rebecca, who was also injured.

‘‘ We’ve been through a similar thing, I didn’t lose a sibling, but we can relate,’’ Mr Tsilavis said.

‘‘ We can relive the moments, which is very emotional and we cry, but it is also therapeutic.’’
