NRL chiefs cop the tip
THE marketing guru behind NFL Super Bowl champions the Green Bay Packers has addressed NRL chief executives in a bid to help clubs maximise their potential in a saturated sporting market. Craig Benzel, Packers marketing boss, gave a presentation at yesterday’s CEO conference in Sydney. In a city of roughly 100,000, the Packers have sold out every home match since 1960 and have a waiting list for season tickets of over 85,000. ‘‘ He talked about sales and marketing and his role, and what they’ve done as a community-based club,’’ Canterbury boss Todd Greenberg said.
