Townsville Bulletin - - Football -

PERTH Glory will turn their attention to signing star Gold Coast striker Shane Smeltz after snaring former Adelaide captain Travis Dodd for the next two A-League seasons. Dodd, who notched 41 goals in 183 appearances for Adelaide United over two stints with the club stretching back to the NSL days, said it was a hard decision to leave the Reds. The 31-year-old former Socceroo is the fifth player to shift to Perth for next season, following former Victory defender Evan Berger, goalkeeper Danny Vukovic, Dean Heffernan and Neil Young. With Dodd now locked away, Perth are focusing on Smeltz, who returned to the A-League in January after a failed stint in Turkey.
