No foul play in F± death

A MAN whose body parts were found strewn along a NSW central coast motorway did not die from ‘‘ foul play’’.

Police now believe the man was the victim of a hit-and-run on the busy F3 at Kariong some time on Tuesday.

A motorist alerted police after running over some of the body parts in one of the northbound lanes.

Officers have continued to follow up leads from the public, including a report from a woman who said she saw a maroon sedan swerve to miss an object near the Gosford exit.

‘‘ The woman has told police she heard that vehicle – possibly a Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon – hit the object before seeing a semitrailer travelling behind her swerve to miss the same object,’’ police said.

The sedan was last seen travelling along the Pacific Highway before turning right onto Woy Woy Road at Kariong.

‘‘ We have been exploring a number of theories but all of the evidence available to us at this stage suggests the deceased was the victim of a failto-stop collision.’’
