Wil­liams has clot re­moved

SER­ENA Wil­liams, a for­mer world No. 1 and 13-time grand slam sin­gles cham­pion, is well and was re­cov­er­ing at home af­ter emer­gency surgery on Mon­day to re­move a blood clot from her lungs. Wil­liams suf­fered a pul­monary em­bolism last week and a sec­ond health scare that re­quired her to un­dergo an emer­gency op­er­a­tion. The 29-year-old Amer­i­can ten­nis star said in a state­ment she was at home re­cov­er­ing but un­der strict doc­tor’s su­per­vi­sion.
