THE much anticipated sixth and final instalment of the Vampire Academy series picks up where the previous one left off. Rose Hathaway has been accused of murde r i n g Vampir e Quee n Tatiana and is being held in the court prison awaiting trial. The beginning of this story is fast paced and it isn’t long before Rose’s friends, led by her B. F. F Lissa have devised a jail break to rescue her. They intend to hide Rose away while they uncover the real murderer. But, never one to sit idle, Rose enlists the help of Dimitri and alchemist Sydney to try and track down the secret Dragomir sibling. Unfortunately after the action of the first few chapters things slow down considerably and the story plods along to eventually tie up some of the story lines with predictable conclusions. What is a surprise though is just how many loose ends were left, considering this is the final book in the series. This is obviously due to the writer ensuring a link between this series and the spin off she’s planning, but will ultimately leave fans feeling disappointed.
