17 hurt in eatery crash

A PARA­MEDIC has de­scribed a chaotic scene af­ter an el­derly man crashed his car into a south­east Mel­bourne restau­rant, in­jur­ing 17 peo­ple. Am­bu­lance Vic­to­ria said 12 peo­ple, in­clud­ing the driver of the car, were treated by staff at the scene. Po­lice said an­other five peo­ple suf­fered mi­nor in­juries. Para­medic Brian Ches­son was greeted by chaos when he ar­rived at the restau­rant. It is thought the 70-yearold driver was try­ing to park his car at the Food Star restau­rant when he blacked out.
