Driver trapped after collision
A FEMALE driver was lucky to escape serious injury after her car collided with a pole in Douglas last night. The woman was trapped in the car while emergency crews worked to remove a live power line from the vehicle. The crash happened on a roundabout on University Rd just after 6.30pm. It took more than an hour to clear the scene. Soon after a car crashed into a bus shelter on the corner of Ross River Rd and Anne St, injuring a pregnant woman and two children. They were taken to Townsville Hospital with minor injuries.
