Govt ad­viser quits over car

THE gov­ern­ment has been told to ex­plain the de­tails of an in­ci­dent that led a min­is­te­rial ad­viser to re­sign. Child Safety and Sport Min­is­ter Phil Reeves’ se­nior me­dia ad­viser re­signed on Sun­day af­ter his gov­ern­ment car was in­volved in an in­ci­dent at the week­end. No other de­tails were pro­vided in the one-line re­lease from the min­is­ter’s of­fice. Op­po­si­tion Leader John Paul Lang­broek said the gov­ern­ment held dou­ble stan­dards when it came to in­ci­dents in­volv­ing gov­ern­ment cars and called on Premier Anna Bligh to re­lease full de­tails.
