Irish parties in agreement

Townsville Bulletin - - World Snapshot -

THE leaders of Ireland’s Fine Gael and Labour parties have agreed on a program for a coalition government, as they prepare to rule during the country’s worst ever debt crisis. Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny, who was almost certainly set to be voted prime minister when the Irish parliament meets tomorrow, and Labour leader Eamon Gilmore said they reached agreement on outstanding issues. But it was unclear how the leaders had squared their differences on a timetable for introducing more austerity budgets over the next four years.
