Driver didn’t get brass razoo

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North - Townsville Bulletin

I WOULD like to add some vital information to your story ‘‘ Truck driver compensated af t er coll i s i on with 4WD’’ ( TB, March 3).

It sounds like Greg Condon got paid that amount of money when in actual fact i t wa s a ‘ ‘ s u b r o g a t i o n claim’’ ( which is the right for an insurer to pursue a third party that caused an insurance loss to the insured). Basically meaning the insurance company engages solicitors to recoup their money for repairs.

Greg actually didn’t get a ‘‘ brass razoo’’.

It amazes me how such crucial information seems to be overlooked or left out completely.

The report where this information came from did also state the break up of fees as to where that money went.

If there is going to be a space in your paper for a story, please make space for the whole story. JOCELYN CONDON,

Charters Towers.
