Better prices due to floods
C A T T L E n u m b e r s f o r t o d a y ’ s weekly Charter s Towers auction have been slashed to half the number yarded last week as a result of days of rain across North Queensland which have cut road access.
A total of 333 head have been listed for the auction, down from 682 offered under the hammer last week, and the small offering is expected to result in higher prices.
Cattle destined f or t he meatworks total 161 head and comprise 37 oxen, 36 heifers, 80 cows and eight bulls.
The store cattle offering numbers 172 head and consists of 112 steers, 12 heifers, and 48 cows with 54 calves.
