Robbed of good name
AHEARTLESS thief has stolen a unique sign made for a tiny town’s road safety campaign. The town of Speed in Victoria changed it name to Speedkills for a month as part of a sign changed to match. Locals had planned to auction the sign for charity after the month-long campaign ended. The town — which has a population of about 45 — in January announced it would rename itself for a month if its campaign got 10,000 votes on Facebook. The target was reached in less than 24 hours — and the campaign currently has more than 35,000 Facebook votes.
