Cash found on highway
POLICE north of Columbus, Ohio, are trying to figure out how thousands of dollars in cash ended up along a highway. Police chief Russ Martin in the city of Delaware said there were so many banknotes in the median that an officer said it looked as though the field was growing money. Authorities had been alerted by a motorist, and officers spent hours collecting the cash. Martin would not reveal the total except to say it was ‘‘ five figures’’. He said police checked with the FBI, an armoured car company and bank couriers and none reported missing any money. The chief was confident officers rounded up all the bills and said drivers shouldn’t stop in hopes of finding treasure.
