Time to pass on fast food

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North -

JOHN Andersen’s column entitled ‘‘ Junk food guns down the burger’’ published in the Townsville Bulletin was a shot in the arm for me because it reinforced my steadfast commitment over decades past to fast food.

Originally t he humble hamburger gained widespread popular acceptance as a nutritional and healthy snack in Hamburg, Germany. Later unhealthy der i vatives l acking nutrit i onal worth were s ol d mostly from fast food franchise outlets.

With reference in John’s column to Cafe Russki in Chernobyl I am personally assured the township of Chernobyl is open to and welcomes tourists. Chernobyl even seems an agreeable, acceptable means of relief to escape from the toxicity and waste of Moscow’s circus and environs where to, by air into the heart of the homeland for a while I could be a nonsuppressed, hamper-f ree burgher.
