SOUTH Australia’s grain crop for 2010-11 has come in at a record 10.34 million tonnes, worth $ 3.4 billion to the state’s economy. Premier Mike Rann said the latest crop report found damage to the harvest from unseasonal rains was less than expected. ‘‘ While the logistics of handling such a big crop has presented industry with significant challenges, it is ultimately a boon for farmers and the state’s economy,’’ Mr Rann said.
