NATALIE Flecker is planning the layout of the Yongala Lodge for the big centenary dinner of the sinking of the Yongala on March 26 and had a practice run yesterday. When she had all the tables in place she noticed that, unwittingly, she had placed them in the exact shape of a ship. Then, when she counted up how many seats she had fitted in with this setup they totalled 122 – exactly the number of lives lost in the tragedy. Spooky. Nicola thinks that Matthew Rooney, who was lost with his family in the sinking, must be keeping an eye on proceedings. Let’s hope he approves.
And yes, this is a normal size man standing in the hole.
