MI­RANDA Cos­grove, the star of iCarly and one of the high­est paid child ac­tresses on tele­vi­sion, told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres she would forgo show­biz suc­cess in ex­change for a col­lege de­gree.

‘‘ I just sent all my col­lege ap­pli­ca­tions in so I’m wait­ing to see what hap­pens. I’m in 12th grade but I’ll find out in the next few weeks,’’ Cos­grove, 17, said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an in­ter­view.

Cos­grove ap­plied to New York Univer­sity ( NYU) and the Univer­sity of South­ern Cal­i­for­nia ( USC) and said she un­der­stood pur­su­ing an ad­vanced de­gree might move her away from the Hol­ly­wood set of her hit show, which is in its fourth sea­son.
