Glam­our cou­ple Timer­lake and Biel call quits to four- year re­la­tion­ship

JUSTIN Tim­ber­lake and Jessica Biel have ended their re­la­tion­ship, reps for the cou­ple con­firmed Thurs­day, af­ter me­dia had ear­lier spec­u­lated their four-year re­la­tion­ship was over.

‘‘ Ad­dress­ing the me­dia s pec­u­la­tion r egard­ing Jessica Biel and Justin Tim­ber­lake’s re­la­tion­ship, we are con­firm­ing that they mu­tu­ally have de­cided to part ways,’’ the cou­ple’s reps said jointly.

‘ ‘ The two re­main friends and con­tinue to hold the high­est level of love and re­spect for each other.’’ Tim­ber­lake, 30, and Biel, 29, had been an item since Jan­uary 2007.

The pair were last spot­ted to­gether at the Van­ity Fair party fol­low­ing the Academy Awards on Feb. 27. Ear­lier Peo­ple mag­a­zine re­ported that the ac­tors had mu­tu­ally de­cided to end the re­la­tion­ship, with a source say- ing, ‘‘ there are no hard feel­ings.’’

‘ ‘ I t was com­pletely mu­tual and they both de­cided it was time to move on,’’ the source said.

Tim­ber­lake, who shot to fame in the boy band ‘ N Sync, re­ceived rave re­views for his role in the Os­car-win­ning film The So­cial Net­work.

He pre­vi­ously dated Brit­ney Spears and Cameron Diaz. His split with Spears was the inspiration for his hit song Cry Me a River.

Biel is known for her tele­vi­sion role as Mary Cam­den in the lon­grun­ning fam­ily-drama se­ries 7th Heaven.
