Floods sweep car into creek

A WOMAN and two chil­dren have been res­cued from a car that was swept off a high­way and into a creek by flood­wa­ters in cen­tral Queens­land. The woman was driv­ing on the Peak Downs High­way on the Eton Range at Nebo when she hit wa­ter yes­ter­day af­ter­noon. It’s be­lieved she lost con­trol of the car and it was swept into a flooded creek, po­lice said. By­standers helped drag the woman and two chil­dren from the car, a spokes­woman said. She was treated for shock and mi­nor in­juries and taken to Mackay Base Hos­pi­tal.
