Outback aids rebuild
A NEW report on the power of the Outback to attract tourists to Queensland will be used to help rebuild the industry after recent disasters.
The report, by Tourism Research Australia, said tourists love what they find in outback Queensland but aren’t aware of how much is on offer.
Queensland Tourism Minister Jan Jarrett said the research project found visitors discovered more than they expected and viewed Queensland’s outback as an experience different to similar regions in other parts of Australia.
Federal Minister Assisting on Tourism, Senator Nick Sherry, said locations such as The Stockman’s Hall of Fame and the Qantas Founders Museum were big drawcards.
