RE­LAX: Anne Patch from Com­fort Inn Robert Towns NORTH Queens­land’s di­verse tourism trade is set t o t a k e c e n t r e s t a g e through the Forty NQ Fam­ily Es­capes competition.

Anne Patch, part-owner of the Com­fort Inn Robert Towns in Townsville, is one of a num­ber of op­er­a­tors of­fer­ing a unique taste of the trop­ics.

The Townsville Bul­letin, to­gether with Townsville E n t e r p r i s e a n d N o r t h Queens­land op­er­a­tors, are giv­ing away 40 fan­tas­tic es­capes to des­ti­na­tions in­clud­ing Air­lie Beach, Chart e r s T o wer s , Mag­net i c I s l a nd, Pal uma, Bal g a l Be a c h , Unda r a a n d o f course Townsville.

Ms Patch said the lo­cal in­dus­try was open for busi­ness in the wake of a wet and windy start to sum­mer.

‘‘ This is a great way to tell peo­ple we are back on­line and ready to get things go­ing again,’’ she said.

The competition sur­faced af­ter the re­gion was bat­tered by con­sec­u­tive cy­clones and the on­set of flash flood­ing.

Ms Patch said the re­gion was on the road to re­cov­ery

‘‘ Most im­por­tantly this is a great way to give peo­ple an op­por­tu­nity to re­lax af­ter a pretty tough time,’’ she said.

The competition will con­tinue un­til March 25.
