Anne Patch, part-owner of the Comfort Inn Robert Towns in Townsville, is one of a number of operators offering a unique taste of the tropics.
The Townsville Bulletin, together with Townsville E n t e r p r i s e a n d N o r t h Queensland operators, are giving away 40 fantastic escapes to destinations including Airlie Beach, Chart e r s T o wer s , Magnet i c I s l a nd, Pal uma, Bal g a l Be a c h , Unda r a a n d o f course Townsville.
Ms Patch said the local industry was open for business in the wake of a wet and windy start to summer.
‘‘ This is a great way to tell people we are back online and ready to get things going again,’’ she said.
The competition surfaced after the region was battered by consecutive cyclones and the onset of flash flooding.
Ms Patch said the region was on the road to recovery
‘‘ Most importantly this is a great way to give people an opportunity to relax after a pretty tough time,’’ she said.
The competition will continue until March 25.
