Making more bread
THE franchis or wholed Brumby’s out of doldrums, Michael Sherlock, will address a breakfast event at the Mercure Inn on March 25.
The event is being co-hosted by the Townsville Chamber of Commerce and Townsville Enterprise as part of a Small Business and Franchise Expo being staged by the North Queensland Small Business Development Centre.
Mr Sherlock will speak of his experience as a franchise and retail consultant and how he transformed the bakery business from a basket case to a highly regarded franchise system.
Mr Sherlock, now a regular columnist for Business Review Weekly, is a director of Cold Rock, BLC Shopfitting and GrassAds.
He has just published his latest book on growth strategy called Jumpshift.
‘‘ Michael increased Brumby’s value from $ 6 million to $ 46 million in three years , ’ ’ chamber president John Carey said.
‘‘ That is tremendous growth by anyone’s standards.’’
By the time Mr Sherlock sold Brumby’s in 2007, there were 320 franchises throughout Australia and New Zealand.
