Mining conference to focus on economic challenges
A NEW mining, processing and energy conference is to be held in Townsville.
The North Queensland Mining, Processing and Energy Conference, is to be held at Rydges Southbank Convention Centre on May 9 and 10 and is being presented by Australian Professional Conferences and Seminars and sponsored by Yabulu nickel refinery operator Queensland Nickel.
Australian Professional Conferences and Seminars managing director Elizabeth Hanson said she realised the potential for such an event after working with mining professionals in the region.
Ms Hanson said it would be the first conference developed to service the North Q u e e n s l a n d r e g i o n a n d would focus in 2011 on the economic challenges in the mining, processing and energy industries.
Queensland Nickel is the principal s ponsor, while ma r k e t i n g o r g a n i s a t i o n Townsville Enterprise is also supporting the event and is a r r a n g i n g f o r i n d u s t r y exhibits to be displayed.
