Razors to shift home ground

Townsville Bulletin - - Game On -

THE North Queensland Razorbacks are setting themselves to play at a home away from home tomorrow.

With the deluge of rain unleashed on the city Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the surface at the Townsville Sports Reserve for the Queensland State League game has been deemed unsuitable.

The Pigs will now almost certainly play defending champions Sunshine Coast in Ayr tomorrow afternoon.

Coach Ken Mitchell said the shift was ‘‘ 95 per cent’’ confirmed yesterday.

‘‘ Talking to the Burdekin Panthers club from the ( Townsville) Premier League and they are actually putting their sprinklers on . . . they haven’t had anywhere near the same amount of rain,’’ Mitchell said.

If it goes ahead it will be the second venue shift for the Razorbacks, who were originally scheduled to play at Brolga Park.

A decision on when the game will kick-off will be made today.
