Night out benefit
FUNDRAISERS are getting ready to dance up a storm in aid of Cyclone Yasi victims.
The Cyclone Yasi Charity Dinner and Auction will be hosted by the Townsville Bulletin and Jupiters next Saturday with all proceeds going to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
T h e b l a c k a n d w h i t e themed event will be held at Jupiters Grand Ballroom and as well as a three-course meal and beverage package, guests will entertained by MC Minty from 4TO FM, an auction and music.
North Queensland Newsp a p e r s g e ner a l manager Michael Wilkins said the Bulletin was happy to support an event which would benefit struggling families.
‘‘ It’s easy to forget with events happening overseas many North Queenslanders are still struggling in the wake of Yasi,’’ he said.
‘ ‘ S o m e a r e h o m e l e s s . Others have lost most or all of their possessions. Money we raise will go directly to those most in need.’’
Auction items to go under the hammer of Ferry Property’s Gerry Byrnes will inc l ude a Corey Will i a ms signed and framed singlet, a box to one of the Crocs’ upcoming f i nals pl ay-of f games and a grid walk, chopper ride and safety car lap at the Townsville 400.
Tickets are $ 100 per person or $ 900 for a table of 10.
