Townsville Bulletin - - The Goss -

HARD WORK: Kerry Young, Sarah Fitzpatrick, Sue Byrnes, Joanne Lumb, Aileen Cull, Rebecca Campbell, Ros Miles and Joan Raffe AT Queensland Country Credit Union women rule the roost.

The credit union’s nest eggs are looked after by 85 per cent of women in its workplace.

The organisation was awarded the Employer of Choice for Women by the Minister of the Status of Women Kate Ellis this week.

Credit union’s chief executive officer Aileen Cull said she was never more proud of her team.

‘‘ It is nice my team can get recognised and they deserve it, they are a great team,’’ she said. Mrs Cull started as an accountant with the credit union in 1993, when it was a smaller organisation.

‘‘ One of the things I have enjoyed is that the organisation has grown tremendously in that time and I have been able to be proud of the growth,’’ she said.

‘‘ That has been really rewarding to me personally and also the opportunity to step up to be CEO.

‘‘ I think that is a pretty example for all of our staff.’’
