VIEW: The Gold Coast Q1 tower T H E G o l d C o a s t ’ s S k y P o i n t Ob­ser­va­tion Deck has added a sky­high the­atrette.

Lo­cated on lev­els 77 and 78 of the iconic Q1 tower, the deck in­cludes new ed­u­ca­tional boards, in­for­ma­tive fea­ture zones and dis­plays.

It dou­bles as a chic lounge bar af­ter dark with live en­ter­tain­ment ev­ery Fri­day and Satur­day.

Ad­mis­sion is $ 21 per adult, $ 12.50 per child and $ 54.50 a fam­ily of four.

The Mantra Group, which owns the Bale trade­mark, said it had no fi­nan­cial in­ter­est or con­trol within Port Dou­glas Re­sorts Pty Ltd, which em­ploys all staff. A de­ci­sion on the fu­ture of the prop­erty will be made by its body cor­po­rate. April 1 un­til March 31, 2012. The award-win­ning Reef­sleep ac­com­mo­dates from two to six guests with a per­sonal Fan­tasea host.

In­cluded are all meals, drinks at sun­set, cata­ma­ran trans­fers from Hamil­ton Is­land, one scuba dive or guided snorkelling sa­fari, use of an un­der­wa­ter view­ing ob­ser­va­tory and semi-sub­mersible rides.

The two-night stay on Hamil­ton Is­land in­cludes four ac­com­mo­da­tion op­tions, full buf­fet break­fasts, air­port/ ma­rina to ho­tel trans­fers, use of cata­ma­rans, pad­dle skis, wind­surfers and snorkelling equip­ment, plus the is­land shut­tle. The plan­ta­tion-style re­sort has airy, open-plan two-and three-bed­room, self-con­tained apart­ments and pent­houses, over­look­ing the ma­rina to the Co­ral Sea.

Just 150m from the town cen­tre, the apart­ments have a pool, spa, ten­nis court and 44-berth ma­rina. A restau­rant and cafe are open­ing next month and re­tail shops are set to open over com­ing months.

Spe­cial open­ing rates are $ 260 a night in a two-bed­room stay ( twonight min­i­mum).
