Palm Island stolen sex tape charge
A CLIP of a Palm Island couple performing explicit sexual acts has been distributed widely in the community, allegedly by a juvenile and his friend who broke into their home.
The Townsville Children’s Court has heard a complainant female and a male partner consensually made the p r i v a t e v i d e o r e c o r d i n g unbeknownst to them that it would be seen by anyone else.
However since the two alleged offenders came into possession of the clip last month, it has allegedly been sent via text message and blue-tooth to several other members of the public.
A 15-year-old Palm Island boy faced seven charges in a closed proceeding, including enter dwelling, s t eali ng, distributing a prohibited visual recording and assault occasioning bodily harm.
His co-accused is yet to appear on similar offences before the Townsville Magistrates Court.
Sgt Harms said at 1am on March 11, 2011, the two males are alleged to have broken into a Palm Island home.
‘‘ They located a mobile phone and $ 80 in a wallet,’’ Sgt Harms said.
However the stolen phone contained the explicit recording which is then alleged to have been distributed by the pair.
Two days later the victim received i nformation t he child had her mobile, went to confront the defendant, and was assaulted.
Magistrate Brian Smith ordered the defendant be released on the condition he resided with his aunt on the island, abides by a 9pm to 6am curfew and have no contact with the complainant or his co-accused. The matter was adjourned to the Palm Island Magistrates Court until March 23.
