Teachers suffer cyber bullying
CYBER bullying is hitting Australian school staffrooms, with dozens of teachers in Victoria off work after coming under attack online from students.
The Australian Education Union ( AEU) revealed at least 32 teachers in Victoria had taken time off work due to cyber bullying since June last year.
A search of the Rate My Teacher website uncovered dozens of anony- mous entries by students accusing their teachers of paedophilia.
One comment said: ‘‘ Children of ( school), clench your bums and don’t stop running . . . ( name deleted) is a paedophile, pure and simple."
AEU Victorian president Mary Bl u e t t s a i d s t u d e n t s t a r g e t i n g teachers on the website and social networking sites had caused several teachers to quit the profession and dozens more to take time off work.
