Hospital staff commended

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North -

I RECENTLY had to go to the Townsville Hospital for a week and wish to comment on my experience.

From the ambulance crew who picked me up to the patient discharge driver who bought me home, the experience was a positive one.

Apart from the fact that I was in hospital, which noone enjoys, the staff were cheerful, patient and willi ng and I saw doctors, physiotherapists ,occu - pational therapists, and a social worker.

All of these people treated me with respect and could not do enough to help.

I was amazed at how cheerful some of the staff who worked a double shift still managed to be , although they must have been exhausted.

So to the staff on EMU Ward and Medical Ward 2, thank you for making what would have been a frightening experience into a most enjoyable one.

To the knockers of the public system, I say you do not know how lucky we are. MARGARET PILCHER,

West End.
