Sharing our roads

Townsville Bulletin - - Text The Editor -

Cyclist 4817! Just stay off the line! Get in the the bike lane, you know the one with the picture of a bike. I’ve got a lot more to say to your smart mouth that wouldn’t make it into the paper. Mark G Bushland Beach. Dear Cyclist 4817, when I had driving lessons not once was I informed that I have to change lanes to go around the cyclist. Not once! Don’t create your own road rules and stick to the bike lanes. SMB. To all cyclists and low-powered m/ bikes, if you actually rode completely in the lane you would not confuse drivers and put lives at risk, get in the lane or get out but don’t ride on the white line and then complain about near misses. Kris Mt Louisa KG, of course u have every right 2 be hostile, ura redneck fool like everyone else who can’t share the road legally like everyone else can manage 2 do, we ride in the early hours 2 get away from people like u, fair enough a few cyclists are idiots & need 2 wake up, but be careful because some cyclists do not tolerate crap. Douglas. 4814 To KG: Last time you checked, motor vehicles ‘‘ contribute’’ to the road? You are living in a fantasy. All the cyclists I know own cars and pay rego and fuel taxes. We ride for fun. Next thing you will be complaining about those pesky pedestrians that cross the road without paying. Cyclist 4814. On the cyclist issue doesn’t matter who is in the wrong u hit a cyclist and they’re dead. Period. I ride and drive use ur uncommon sense, King Brown, Aitkenvale

To cyclist 4817 if riding your bike elsewhere is so good maybe u should move there and u’ll be sweet. Doesn’t matter what time of day it is roads are for cars bike lanes for bikes. Tony
