Landslide work goes on
ROAD crews are continuing to clear debris from a section of road on Alexander Drive at Bingil Bay near Mission Beach after a massive landslide. Cassowary Coast Regional Council workers have cleared about 3000 cubic metres of dirt and rock from a 40m section of road. The work was stopped by rain midway through last week but started up again over the weekend. Drivers are being advised to use the alternative route to and from Bingil Bay, via Mission Beach Rd and Bingil Bay Rd. The council will apply to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority for natural disaster funding.
