Dengue found in Cairns
QUEENSLAND Health has declared a new outbreak of dengue fever in Cairns after two residents tested positive for the mosquitoborne disease. The residents live in the suburbs of Manunda and Mooroobool and authorities have warned locals in both areas to take precautions. Queensland Health says it is unknown at this stage if the outbreak is linked to current outbreaks at Innisfail, where 55 people have been diagnosed with the virus. It is the first outbreak of dengue to be confirmed in Cairns this year.
