China slow­down warn­ing

COM­PA­NIES linked to China should start to con­sider what im­pact a slow­down in that coun­try’s eco­nomic growth may have on them, a se­nior Aus­tralian banker says. The ex­ec­u­tive gen­eral man­ager of cor­po­rate fi­nan­cial ser­vices at the Com­mon­wealth Bank, Sy­mon Brewis-We­ston, says China’s abil­ity to pro­duce goods cheaper and cheaper has prob­a­bly reached its nir­vana. He warned of a short or medium-term set­back in the fu­ture.
