Tamou primed to make most of selection reprieve
From back page ‘‘ The coach has said ‘ look at all those mistakes you did – try and look past that because everything else you did, you did fine, it was just a lapse in concentration and you need to work a bit on that’,’’ Tamou said. ‘‘ I think I was still fixed on last week and I didn’t really get into the game, I was just sort of ( going through) the motions and just backing up for the team and I should’ve been leading.’’
Still, being demoted to Q Cup duties would not have sat well with Tamou.
‘‘ I knew I wasn’t too happy about my game and I told the team I wouldn’t be too happy if I was cut and taken back down to Q Cup,’’ he said.
‘‘ But he ( Henry) stuck with me and hopefully way better t his night.’’
Tamou will have his shot at redemption against a Storm pack featuring the likes of heavy hitters Adam Blair, Sika Manu and Kevin Proctor.
‘‘ Melbourne’s renowned for being strong and just being physical . . . not only are they big they’re skilful,’’ he said.
‘‘ I think this is a really good I can do Monday test for us ( and) for the forwards just to get back at them, just try and bash them around. We’re going to go back to what we did well with the Broncos.’’
T a m o u s a i d J a m e s Segeyaro and Kalifa Fai Fai Loa, who have been named on the team in place of Ben Jones and Michael Bani, would also face an acid test against the Storm.
