Townsville Bulletin - - Savvy -

Harriet Rolfe, 17, Heatley, med student

Harriet said she moved to Townsville a little over a month ago to start her degree at JCU. Originally from Warwick, outside Brisbane, Harriet said she chose to move because the med school here is so good, and it wasn’t uncommon for med students to take places in Townsville over uni in Brisbane. Harriet said she would love to work as a rural GP, and is also keen to one day participate in Doctors Without Borders. 1. Do you like Mondays? Not really. 2. Book or magazine? Book. 3. Fave band right now? I’m a Metallica girl. 4. Most daring thing you’ve done? Moved 14 hours away from home to go to uni.

Stuart Harris, 17, Douglas, med student

Stuart moved to Townsville from Yeppoon at the beginning of this year to study at James Cook University. He said he chose to come to Townsville because the medical course is brilliant and he had been here a few times and couldn’t criticise the place. Stuart said at the moment he is open to suggestion for his specialisation, but is considering getting into orthopaedic or eye surgery. 1. Do you like Mondays? I love them. 2. Book or magazine? Magazine. 3. Fave band right now? The Fratellis. 4. Most daring thing you’ve done? Nothing I’d like to admit to in a newspaper.
