Puppy dies from lack of fluid

ONE of the mas­tiff-cross pup­pies fea­tured in yes­ter­day’s Townsville Bul­letin has died due to lack of fluid.

The two sur­viv­ing pup­pies, a male and a fe­male were placed with a carer yes­ter­day and the fe­male will need hourly fluid in­jec­tions un­til her health im­proves.

RSPCA Townsville shel­ter man­ager Caro­line Shemwell said the puppy was put down be­cause it hadn’t re­ceived the essen­tials in life in­clud­ing food, wa­ter, shel­ter and worm­ing.

The two as yet un­named re­main­ing pup­pies were still un­well.
