Some home truths about Campbell ‘‘ Can Do’’ Newman

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North -

IN reply to the member for Thuringowa and his comments ( TB, Wednesday 22), I would like to say that last time I checked, Anna Bligh is from south-east Queensland and is the sitting Member for South Brisbane and has demonstrated little or no support for the people any where outside the south-east corner, let alone North Queensland, Townsville and Thuringowa.

The Labor member for Thuringowa claims to work for the people of Thuringowa and North Queensland and is Anna Bligh’s man in the North, but he does not seem concerned with the practical issues of his own constituents as we have not yet had one bit of road infrastructure put in the area, even though he is the Minister for Mai n Roads. What gives him the right to say that ‘‘ Can Do’’ Campbell Newman ‘‘ doesn’t know the North or understand the regions’’? He and his boss, Anna Bligh, stand accused of the very same crime that they accuse Mr Newman of and Mr Newman hasn’t even been given a chance to show his interest in this great State.

Campbell Newman understands the needs of communities in terms of infrastructure as he is an engineer by profession. He has lived in regional Queensland for a decade, working in agriculture and mining industries. I am confident he will give North Queensland the due attention it deserves.
