PAK­ISTAN’S army hired a stunt di­rec­tor who worked on Mel Gib­son’s Brave­heart to pro­duce a movie that shows the force’s fight against the Tal­iban in a more heroic light. The mil­i­tary, a hugely pow­er­ful pres­ence in Pak­istan, was set to pump mil­lions into the pro­ject af­ter be­ing stung by West­ern crit­i­cism that it was not do­ing enough to erad­i­cate mil­i­tants in the tribal ar­eas bor­der­ing Afghanistan – and to make sure it hits the spot, the army hired Tom Del­mar, a stunt di­rec­tor who worked on the Scot­tish free­dom epic Brave­heart.
