Seven- hour fundraising concert will rock all ages
THE kids can rock it out with Ricki-Lee while mum and dad are breaking it down to Barnesy at the Cyclone Relief NQ Concert with children’s tickets available for just $ 10.
All proceeds from the seven-hour music festival will go to North Queensland’s Cyclone Yasi-affected families and with adult general admission tickets $ 75, children 12 and under $ 10 and kids under four free it is expected to draw a huge crowd.
All grandstand tickets are $ 100 each. As well as headline act Jimmy Barnes, Shannon Noll, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Stan Walker, Dragon and Townsville band Godfathers of Funk will take to the stage.
The Wilson family can’t wait to pack up their picnic rug and head to Tony Ireland Stadium for the family friendly event on April 9.
Mum Tracey said while she and her husband Geoff were eager to see Jimmy Barnes and Dragon perform, her children Emily, 10, and Sami, seven, were excited about Ricki-Lee and Shannon Noll.
‘‘ We’re looking forward to seeing Dragon especially but it will be good to see Barnesy too. I haven’t seen him perform since I was at uni,’’ she said. ‘‘ When Cyclone Yasi hit here in Townsville, it was scary enough so we really feel for the people in places like Tully and Cardwell.’’
