Nufarm’s earnings up

Townsville Bulletin - - Investor -

AGRICULTURAL chemicals supplier Nufarm Ltd says its earnings prospects for the rest of its 2011 financial year depend upon factors that were outside its control, but expects an improved result. Nufarm yesterday booked a first half net profit after tax of $ 4.44 million, compared to a loss of $ 39.99 million in the prior corresponding period. The company said it benefited from climatic conditions in Australia, an improved operating environment, a restructure of its Brazil business, and higher-value products. Nufarm moved away from sales of weedkiller glyphosate.
