TOWNSVILLE’S first op-shopping tours started this month.

The tours are being conducted by Vinnies and take in all their six pre-loved clothing shops and the Vinnies book and gift shop, with a cafe stop for morning tea.

Vinnies assistant area manager Judy Shanks said the tours allowed people to get around to every Vinnies shop from West End to the Upper Ross to find some bargains.

‘‘ I introduced the tours to promote our shops and to show the high quality,’’ Mrs Shanks said. ‘‘ People will certainly find that elusive gift, especially at the book shop and there is always a bargain, there is everything from kitchenwares to shoes, handbags and evening gowns.’’

Mrs Shanks said the tours were $ 15 a head and included morning tea and fuel for their new Hyundai eight-seater people mover.

Arrangements can be made to pick up groups of up to seven people from one address or people could meet the bus at the St Vincent de Paul Society in Echlin St. Details: 4771 4077.
