Alice warning

Townsville Bulletin - - National Snapshot -

STATE MPs have been warned Alice Springs could collapse as a community if something is not done urgently to curb the steady increase in alcohol abuse and violence. Locals claim they will be forced to move if the NT Labor government does not take control of the ‘‘ rivers of grog’’. About 200 members of the Action for Alice group rallied outside a sitting of the NT parliament held yesterday. According to the NT Country Liberal opposition, crime in the Alice has risen by 47 per cent since 2007.
