Mariners Peninsula to be millionaires’ row
WATERFRONT homes to be built on land in Mirvac’s Mariner’s Peninsula estate fronting Townsville’s Cleveland Bay will eventually become North Queensland’s finest residential address, says a leading Townsville property agent.
Mariner’s Peninsula is being developed in two stages on a 3ha parcel accessed from The Strand where the first stage was completed some time ago. The second stage comprises The Point, a yet to be developed 15-level tower with 71 apartments, and 15 oceanfront home sites, six of which are under contract for prices ranging from $ 1.035 million to $ 1.245 million.
The tower has notched up offthe-plan sales valued at $ 22 million, with one apartment sold for $ 1.9 million.
Nick Ferry of Ferry Property, lead agents for The Point, said yesterday he believed the Mariner’s Peninsula home sites would accommodate some of the North’s homes.
‘‘ Discussions with some of the purchasers indicate they a r e p l a n n i n g s p e c t a c u l a r homes for their land,’’ he said.
‘‘ The position is stunning and, with just 15 lots enjoying the aspect and position, we believe they will constitute Townsville’s best address.
‘‘ It is fair to say that they represent a once-in-a-lifetime buying opportunity.’’
The home sites face north and
exclusive northeast and afford uninterr upted views t o Magnetic Island or of Cleveland Bay and The Strand. The average price of remaining lots is $ 1.1 million.
M i r v a c D e v e l o p m e n t ’ s Queensland chief executive Matthew Wallace said the company acquired the Mariner’s Peninsula site several years ago because it considered it to be the best waterfront residential site in North Queensland.
