FOR one Townsville cou­ple, their dream has just grown.

Af­ter cre­at­ing mir­a­cles for chil­dren in Z a mbi a l a s t y e a r , Dal­wyn and Trudy Web­ster are about to open their sec­ond or­phan­age in the south­ern African nation.

The OZ Kids In­tern a t i o n a l f o u n d e r s opened their first or­phan­age on Jan­uary 23 last year, with a ren­o­vated four-bed­room home pro­vid­ing a roof over the heads of up to 12 chil­dren.

The new fa­cil­ity will have t wo birt hing clin­ics and the ca­pac­ity to care for up to 50 chil­dren.

T h e T o w n s v i l l e - based char­ity will also open a vo­ca­tional t r ai ning cen­tre i n Zam­bia, with Pim­lico St a t e High Sc hool stu­dents al­ready do­nat­ing tool kits to help chil­dren there learn trades.

P i m l i c o t e a c h e r Craig Timbs said it h a d b e e n a n e y e - open­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.

‘‘ Nearly ev­ery stude nt ’ s j a w d r o p p e d when we com­pared s t a t i s t i c s f o r Aus­tralia and Zam­bia, like pop­u­la­tion and life ex­pectancy,’’ he said.
