A PENSIONER was held prisoner in her Australian home for six days by a large deadly red-bellied black snake. Disabled pensioner Meredith Schetrumpf – who lives in Budgewoi, on the NSW Central Coast – said the two-metre snake had curled up on the path outside her front door. Terrified it might enter her house she phoned police, her local MP and Wyong Council who gave her several numbers to call for help. The numbers didn’t answer. A snake catcher eventually responded.
