$ 29b worth of work planned for North

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North -

Good grief, if I had a dollar for every time Townsville was ‘‘ confirmed’’ as an economic powerhouse ( only to have a significant portion of those projects quietly shelved – or noisily, in the case of Flinders Plaza), I could retire. Honestly, folks, you only get to ‘‘ confirm’’ something once. Reconfirm, maybe, or even reinforce, underline, etc. That aside, are you seriously including a 35 year project’s cost in your tally? Why not REALLY push the boat out and say that 2 trillion dollars will be spent over the next 400 years? Now THAT would be a headline! I know success breeds success, but Townsville Enterprise is grasping at some serious straws here. And we’d better hope China’s demand for our mining output doesn’t ever, ever slow down ( which of course, one day it will), or this place is totally hosed. Posted by: Paul Anderson of Pimlico Please! Rocky Springs to take 35 years to be finished? When does it start? Stop repeating these claims. How about ‘‘ real’’ articles, where the Bulletin makes the Townsville City Council accountable for where our huge rate payments go! Posted by: S Richards of Deeragun Yep, we have money for this and we have money for that, money, money, money. Big noters, yep new entertainment centre, unreal, hooray, wonderful, real powerhouse, love it – WHAT ABOUT THE ROADS? Posted by: Frank First priority is to save lives, spend the money where it’s needed. THE BLOODY ROADS, ya bunch of clowns. Posted by: Albert
