Not just the mall
THE outrage of public transport users about the removal of the bus interchange at the city centre and the random scattering of bus stops around the surrounding streets is growing day by day. But bus users elsewhere report similar problems. One reader reports the situation in Railway Estate is atrocious: ‘‘ they changed the bus route 12 months ago away from Tenth Ave to Ninth Ave. All the old bus stops are still in Tenth Ave, no bus stops or shelters in Ninth Ave or at the bottom end of Brooke St just before you turn into Ninth Ave, everybody has to stand out in the rain, then they have to jump out in front of the bus just to hail it down. Nothing has been done about relocating the bus stops or shelters they just don’t care about commuters in this town’’. Sadly, going by the shemozzle in the city centre, I’d have to agree.
